The Indian vehicles were stranded in Nepal side of the border since long time due to border obstruction.
Drivers of the Indian cargo vehicles had even launched a sit-in in front of Birgunj-based Indian consulate office demanding the reopening of the border.
Earlier this morning, Nepal police had cleared the border obstruction after it removed the UDMF cadres who were holding sit-in at the Birgunj-Raxaul checkpoint for more than one month.

As soon as the Indian vehicles crossed the border, Indian security forces allowed the Madhesi protesters to organize protest at the no man's land region of Nepal-Indian border although Indian police had prevented them to do so earlier this morning.
