The parties held a meeting with Nepali Congress on Wednesday to convey their common stance. They also urged NC leaders to show flexibility in forging consensus among the parties to form a new government, according to leaders of the parties.
“We are meeting UCPN-M and CPN-UML leaders on Thursday,” said Chairman of Sadbhawana Party Rajendra Mahato, who is also the outgoing minister for supplies.
The parties, which have a total of 57 lawmakers in the Constituent Assembly and are decisive in forming a majority government, are also meeting small parties to ask them to root for consensus government.
“The three parties have shown indifference toward forging consensus,” said Mahato, “So we are taking initiatives to urge them to form the new government on the basis of political understanding.”
