Lincoln School clinch team trophy

KATHMANDU, Sept 2: Sirish Gurung, Manish Chitrakar and Anjallee Syangbo took their tally to four gold medals each in the Fifth HIMS Inter School Swimming Championship as Lincoln School clinched the team title with 90 points on Sunday.



Little Angels´ School finished runner-up with 74 points while host HIMS finished third with 57 points. [break]



Chitrakar, who claimed three gold medals on the opening day on Saturday, added a gold medal on Sunday. He completed 50 m backstroke in 35.69 seconds to clinch gold in boys´ 15-17 years age group.



Meanwhile, Gurung won two gold medals on Sunday. He clocked 37.25 seconds to complete 50m backstroke in boys´ 13-14 years age group while he added another gold medal from 50m freestyle event of the same age group. Gurung finished the 50m freestyle in 30.84 seconds.



Likewise, Syangbo claimed gold in 100m individual medley in open category and 50m freestyle event of girls´ 13-14 years age group on Monday. She finished the 100m individual medley in 1 minute 30.13 seconds and clocked 35.87 seconds for 50m freestyle. She had claimed two gold medals on Saturday.



Swikriti Ghising finished first in 25m freestyle and 25m backstroke in U-10 girls´ section. She completed the backstroke in 21.68 seconds and freestyle in 18.40 seconds.



Sofia Shah won gold medals in 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke events of girls´ 15-17 years age group while Elisa Gurung clinched first place in 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke events of girls´ 11-12 years age group.



Likewise, Pasang Sherpa claimed gold in 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke events of boys´ 11-12 years age group.



Shuvam Shrestha (25m backstroke, U-10 boys), Clara Fields (50m backstroke, girls´ 13-14 years age group), Seo Seung Hwi (50m freestyle, boys´ 15-17 years age group) and Sunic Gordon (25m freestyle, U-10 boys) won gold medals in their respective events and age groups.

Little Angels´ School claimed gold in 4x50m freestyle relay of open boys´ category with a timing of 2 minutes 7.50 seconds.
