Speaking at a press conference, on Saturday organized by Press Chautari Nepal at Dhankuta, Gautam said, all are equal in the eyes of law, even though the attackers are from UML, they should be punished for their heinous act.[break]
Adding further that the national consensus government will not be formed under the leadership of UML, he said, "Consensus government will be formed under the leadership of Nepali Congress and UCPN (Maoist)."
When asked whether he was preparing for the post of prime minister, he replied, “I am a leader of the party but I will not take the post of prime minister, the leaders who have lost elections can remain leaders as per our interim constitution but cannot become the PM, and it is not politically ethical”.
I am fully convinced that the peace process and constitution drafting will come to its logical end within the stipulated time frame, he said.
