DADELDHURA, Aug 22: Sixty-eight families from various Village Development Committees (VDC) in the district have been displaced due to fear of landslides.

Similarly, a landslide destroyed three houses in Jogbuda-4, Malas according to the Area Police Office. Similarly, some families in Amargadi municipality have also been displaced due to fear of landslide.

Meanwhile, police posts at several places in the district have lost contact due to power failure for the past four days. The posts have not been able to recharge their communication sets due to the power failure, says Deputy Superintendent of Police Chakra Bahadur Singh.

Police offices in Belapur, Devaldivapur, Sakayal, Rupal, Gankhet and Alital are out of contact for three days. This has caused difficulty in gathering information about floods and landslides.

There are 16 police posts and an Area Police Office in the district and the chiefs of other posts as well are making contact with the district police office only once a day, says DSP Singh.
