Addressing a function organized by Nepal Press Union (NPU) Chitwan Chapter in Narayangardh on Sunday, Koirala alleged that Dahal´s remarks have proved that the Maoists have still not given up on their motive of capturing the state through force.[break]
"Is it the business of Prachanda [Dahal] alone to form a government?" Koirala asked. "Why is he talking like this?"
Chairman Dahal, while addressing a program organized by CPN-Maoist in Lalitpur on Saturday, had argued that the Maoists can´t give government leadership to NC for holding new election.
Koirala accused the Maoists of creating hindrances on different pretexts. Expressing his frustrations over the Maoists´ attitude, Koirala said, "I once told them that you would better go to jungle again and take up arms. I even told Prachanda to take up arms and kill me as well."
A party that does politics of ideology need not surrender with anyone, he further said, adding, "I do not have fear of guns as the battle between guns and ideology is eventually won by ideology."
"Though we were very angry with the Maoists after their unilateral decision to dissolve the Constituent Assembly, we have started talks with them in the national interest."
Calling upon the Maoists to leave behind the politics of threats, Koirala asked Dahal to come to a consensus politics to help address the problems faced by the country.
