KMC initiates process to deregister 107 non-operational schools

The KMC’s Education Department has asked 107 schools that are not physically operational to contact the metropolitan office within 15 days. It has warned that schools failing to do so within the stipulated time will be deregistered.

KATHMANDU, Dec 24: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has initiated a process to deregister schools that obtained permission but never came into operation. 



Issuing a public notice, the KMC’s Education Department has asked 107 schools that are not physically operational to contact the metropolitan office within 15 days. It has warned that schools failing to do so within the stipulated time will be deregistered.

According to the Education Department, a field inspection was conducted of schools that had received approval but were not found operating at their designated locations, in line with a decision of the Education Committee meeting held on August 13. The current process has been initiated based on the report prepared following that inspection.


The Education Department stated that if the schools are operating on the ground, the concerned principals, operators, or managers must appear at the Education Department within 15 days from the date of publication of the notice.
