Khaniya, Maharjan win golds

KATHMANDU: Binesh Khaniya and Elina Maharjan of Prime College on Friday won gold medals in the boys´ and girls´ singles events of the Fourth Krishnadhwaj Memorial School and College Level Table Tennis Championship being held in the capital.



Khaniya defeated his college mate Pradip Roka 9-11, 11-6, 11-8, 11-9 in the boys´ singles final while Maharjan saw off Kajol Rauniyar of Oxbridge International College 11-6, 8-11, 11-4, 11-3 to take gold in girls´ singles. Pritika Agrawal of Whitefield saw off school mate Lujala Shrestha 11-8, 11-2, 11-9 for gold in the junior girls´ event. Paras Rawal of The Chandbagh defeated Arpan Adhikari of Elite Co-ed 11-1, 11-7, 11-3 in the junior boys´ final.
