Khadka, who carded one-under 72 on the first day, registered a card of same score on Thursday here at the par-73 Himalayan Golf Course.[break]
Khadka was joint leader with Rajan Thapa on the first day.
Nepal No 1 Srestha carded second straight 73 to book second spot with a total score of even-par 146.
Thapa failed to continue his rhythm on the second day and played three-over 76 on Thursday. He slipped to third as he has a total of two-over 148.
Khadka took the turn at even-par 37 as he scored birdies on Hole No 2 and 8 and bogeys on the fifth and ninth holes. He, then, carded one-under 35 on the back nine as he hit birdies on the 13th and 17th holes after dropping a shot on the 11th hole.
Shrestha shot two-over 39 on the front nine and completed the back nine with two-under 34. Shrestha started with a birdie on the first hole but dropped a shot on the second.
He shot bogeys on the fifth hole but he earned a birdie on the sixth. He suffered double bogey on the ninth hole. On the back nine, he shot birdies on the 11th, 13th and 18th holes against a bogey on the 10th.
Thapa shot two-over 39 on the front nine and added one-over 37 on the back. He saved par on 15 holes while he shot bogeys on the third, seventh and 16th holes.
Dhana Thapa is fourth at nine-over 155, while Deepak Thapa Magar, Deepak Neupane, Yelambe Singh Adhikari and Jaya Ram Shrestha shared the fifth position with the score of 10-over 156. Sabin Sapkota is ninth at 157, while Pashupati Sharma and Surya Prasad Sharma are tied for 10th with the score of 12-over 158.
In amateur section, Dinesh Prajapati and Puskar Rajbahak shared the lead with the score of 16-over 162, while Tashi Tsering and Sanjeev CK are tied for third at 164.
Altogether 48 golfers, including 20 amateurs, participated in the event but only top 20 pros and six amateurs made the cut after the completion of the second day and will play the final round on Friday.
The winner of the event will get Rs 90,000, while the runner-up will bag Rs 57,000. The event is organized by Nepal PGA and sponsored by Surya Nepal.
