BAGLUNG, April 8: Chairman of Rastriya Janamorcha Chitra Bahadur KC has challenged the Maoists to garner majority in parliament if they want to form a new government under their leadership.

KC said the formation of new government is not possible by babbling on the streets. [break]

KC, who was in Baglung as part of the campaign against federalism, said the country has been heading toward catastrophe due to Maoists´ meaningless protests. "The Maoists have been protesting to create confrontation in the country," he added.

He said the Maoists are not serious to promulgate the constitution on time. They have begun street protests instead of concentrating on constitution drafting process, he said, adding, "No one can form new government by just babbling on the streets. If Maoists really need a new government, they have to garner majority in the House as per the provisions of interim constitution.”

He said the Maoists have been spreading illusions by promoting racial disputes in the name of ethnic rights. "Other parties have also been running behind federalism without thinking about the possible consequences. It will ultimately invite disaster in the country,” he said.

He said major political parties were not serious enough on writing constitution on time.
