Kathmandu into semis

KATHMANDU, April 3: Kathmandu advanced into the semifinal of the Fourth National Blind Cricket Tournament on Monday defeating Banke by eight wickets.



In the first match played at Institute of Engineering, Pulchowk, Banke was put into bat and scored 183 runs losing eight wickets in 20 overs. Radheyshyam Chaudhary scored 34 runs while Birendra Kunwar scored 23 runs and Ram Kumar Chaudhary scored 22. [break]



Kritan Shrestha grabbed four wickets while Jay Sagar Giri, Bikram Bahadhur Rana and Kausal Raymajhi took a wicket each.



Kathmandu reached the target in 16.1 overs for the loss of two wickets. Man-of-the-match Jay Sagar Giri scored 66 runs while Rajendra Dhital scored 60 runs. Ram Chaudhary and Naresh Chudhary shared a wicket each.







The next match between Kathmandu and Chitwan ended in draw after heavy rainfall. Losing the toss Chitwan scored 166 runs for the loss of five wickets. Surya Dawadi scored 36 runs while Indra Gaudel scored 26 runs. Kritan Shrestha Duwal grabbed three wickets while Jay Sagar Giri took two wickets for Kathmandu.



Kathmandu batted for five overs before the rain stopped the match. Banke will face Lumbini in the first semifinal while Kathmandu meets Kaski in another semifinal.
