KATHMANDU, April 25: Chief Minister (CM) of Karnali Province Yam Lal Kandel has secured a vote of confidence.
Kandel received 23 votes in Thursday's provincial assembly. Today, 35 MPs were present in the 40-member provincial assembly.

Kandel received 23 votes in his favor while 11 were cast against him. One of the lawmakers chose to stay neutral.
There are 14 MPs from the Nepali Congress (NC), 13 from the CPN (Maoist Center), and 10 from the CPN-UML in the Karnali Provincial Assembly.
Likewise, there is one lawmaker each from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Unified Socialists and Independents.
Kandel was appointed as the Chief Minister on April 9.
