Karate team off to Serbia

KATHMANDU, Oct 8: An eight-member karate team, including five players, on Wednesday left for Subotica, Serbia to take part in the 23rd SKDUN World Shotokan Karate Championship and Eighth SKDUN Kohai World Cup slated for October 9-11.

Team coach Govinda Shrestha will also take part in men's 60-65 kg. Meanwhile, Gita Sunuwar will compete in women's 50-55 kg event, Bindan Thapa Magar will take part in men's 35-40 kg, Niraj Hemjan will vie for men's 30-35 kg title and Rupesh Kunwar will compete in men's 40-45 kg event under Kohai.

Ram Krishna Maharjan, president of Nepal Shotokan Do Association, is the team leader and Shyam Krishan Shrestha is the team manager.
