According to the Supreme Court's Deputy Spokesperson Bishwa Paudel, judges from the riot-hit districts have been submitting application to change in arrangement for reporting for work.So far, 12 district court judges from Bara, Dhanusha, Mahottari and Rautahat have submitted such application to the Supreme Court. The judges have argued that justice delivery has been badly hit by the security concerns of themselves and the service seekers.
The judges have requested the leadership of the judiciary to either transfer them on deputation or to make change in arrangement for attendance at nearby districts, which are safe in terms of individual security.
"Some district court judges have been reporting about the security concerns but the Supreme Court is yet to decide on their applications. We'll decide soon after assessing the security concerns," said Paudel.
Tarai-Madhes districts are reeling under bandas imposed by political parties and activists protesting against the proposed federal delineation. The protests have taken a violent turn.
