Journalist attacked in Sankhuwasabha

DHANKUTA, Aug 12: Kishor Budathoki, Correspondent of Annapurna Post, has been assaulted on Thursday night by a gang of two. Bikash Rai and Rupak Rai of Sankhuwasabha Khandbari-10 have beaten Budathoki severely.



Rai had called Budathoki while he was fast asleep at his place and had assaulted him. He is undergoing treatment at Biratnagar. [break]



The duo used knife and bamboo stick to assault Budathoki.



He was called outside while sleeping and was beaten by the duo, informed Shyam Niraula, Chairman of Federation of Nepali Journalist (FNJ) Sankhuwsabha.



Budathoki is in a critical situation and has sustained serious injuries on his head and his torso. Both the culprits are absconding.



Police are investigating the incident. He was beaten for news published a month ago about domestic violence on the local FM, in Khandbari.
