Joint students union protest at NOC gate

KATHMANDU, Sept. 27: The Joint Students Union Friday morning staged demonstrations at the main entrance of the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) at Babarmahal in Kathmandu, demanding withdrawal of its September 10 decision to increase prices of petroleum products. [break]



Students affiliated to Nepal Students´ Union (NSU), All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU), All Nepal National Independent Students Union (Revolutionary) and other students joined the demonstrations.



The September 10 meeting of NOC had decided to increase the price of petrol by Rs 5 per liter and of diesel and kerosene by Rs 3 per liter.



Similarly, price of fuel of domestic flights was increased by Rs 10 per liter.



The Joint Students´ Union has launched the protest of second phase since September 25.



ANNISU(R) leader Netra Mainali has warned that they will intensify the protest if the demand is not addressed at the earliest.
