Jeep-hit kills pedestrian in Gulmi

KATHMANDU, March 29: A pedestrian died after being hit by a jeep in Chandrakot Rural Municipality of Gulmi district on Saturday evening.



The deceased has been identified as 55-year-old Tulsi Thapa of Chandrakot–4, according to police. Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police Ganga Bahadur Saru at the District Police Office confirmed the incident.

The accident occurred at Ripaha area when a safari jeep (Lu 1 Ja 1834), heading from Chandrakot to Shantipur, struck Thapa while crossing the road.


Critically injured Thapa was initially taken to a local health facility and later referred to Lumbini Medical College in Palpa for further treatment. However, she succumbed to her injuries during treatment the same night, police said.


Police have taken the jeep and its driver, Jiban Foudar, into custody for further investigation.
