Jeep caught at Banepa for carrying chicks

BANEPA, Aug 11: A Bolero jeep has been caught at Banepa while ferrying chicks to Dolakha from Ashapuri Hatchary Industry, Bhaktapur, on Sunday morning.



The jeep (Ba 7 Pa 7012) was caught at Banepa and has been recovered chicks. Government has banned producing chicks citing in view of recent bird flu outbreaks in and around Kathmandu Valley.[break]



Earlier, District Administration Office, Kavre had imposed ban on entry of poultry products including chicks from the Kathmandu Valley following confirmation of bird-flu in various poultry farms there over the past few days.



On Saturday itself, local poultry entrepreneurs had decided to strictly ban on entry of poultry products fearing the spread of the bird flu virus in the district.
