Claiming that he will lead the next government if Madhav Kumar Nepal government steps down, Gachchhadar said, "It is my destiny to be the next prime minister." [break]
He, however, also claimed that the present government will not fall until the new constitution is promulgated. He said there is no alternative to the present government as it has been proven that all major parties are unable to run the country.
"The people have already seen the real character of the Maoists who have been issuing threats to topple this government since day one," Gachchhadar said addressing a mass rally in Janakpur on Saturday.
He also blamed that Maoist for obstructing the constitution-writing process unnecessarily. He called on the political leaders to rise above partisan interests and think for the country.
"We still have two months to complete the constitution. If we leave selfish interests and become united, we can write the constitution within the deadline," Gachchhadar said.
Also speaking on the occasion, vice-chairman of the party, Rameshwar Raya, said that bulk integration of the Maoists into the army is not possible.
Janakpur to be tourism spot
Speaking at an interaction entitled "Development Opportunities for Janakpur" organized by Janakpur Chamber of Commerce earlier, Minister for Tourism Sarat Singh Bhandari pointed at the possibility of developing Janakpur as a major tourist spot in Nepal.
He said that an agreement has been reached between Nepal and India to construct an international airport in Janakpur.
Although the budget for runway extension has been sanctioned, work has not moved forward.
Gachchhadar also informed that an agreement has been reached with Saudi Arabia which is granting Rs 2.25 billion worth aid package for infrastructure development projects in Janakpur.
