The event was organized to have broader dialogue on tourism crisis with government agencies, diplomatic agencies and private sector to find the solution to mitigate its impact, NTB said in a press statement.[break]
High-ranking officials from embassies of Australia, US, Switzerland, France, China, Israel, Russia, Denmark, Finland and Canada, and Consulate of New Zealand along with senior officials from the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Ministry of Home Affairs, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal attended the interaction.
Addressing the program, Subash Nirola, officiating CEO of NTB, this was the right time to have such interaction with stakeholders as ultimate goal of all was to ensure the safety and security of the tourists coming to Nepal.
On the occasion, Aditya Baral, director of NTB, made a presentation, detailing the history of Nepal´s tourism together with tourism crisis management.
Likewise, Damien Dunn, first secretary of Australian Embassy, Patrick T McNeil, consul of US Embassy and Zhang Bing, first secretary of Chinese Embassy raised questions about safety of tourists in case of earthquake or other disasters in Nepal.
Representatives of most of the embassies requested NTB to felicitate rescue operation in Lukla during bad weather.
