“The critically injured inmates are admitted in the hospital, while others are already back in the jail,” said Inspector Rabindra Poudel, who is also Kaski Police spokesperson. Poudel said that skirmishes between the two groups of inmates must be due to some unsettled internal conflicts.
The inmates attacked each other with anything they could get hold of, informed Poudel.
“Besides internal conflict between the two groups, we don´t see other reasons that could have sparked the brawl,” said Basanta Raj Gautam, Kaski chief district officer.
“The truth will be known only after the investigation is completed,” added Gautam. A three member probe committee has been formed to investigate the incident.
