Deepak Singh, the inmate, escaped while he was being taken for regular eye check-up at the local Paneru Optical Centre. [break]
Singh was escorted by police guards but somehow managed to escape by deceiving them, said Jailor Hemraj Bhatta.
Police Constable Ganesh Chand and constable Dil Bahadur Tamata who were escorting Singh also came into contact only in the evening.
It is suspected that Singh might have escaped in collusion with his police guards. Police is searching for the absconding inmate Singh.
