Indian envoy Prasad pays farewell call

KATHMANDU, Aug 23: Indian Ambassador to Nepal Jayant Prasad, who is returning to New Delhi after completing his term in Nepal, paid a farewell call on Chairman of the Interim Election Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi at the latter´s Office in Singha Durbar on Friday.



During the meeting, Chairman Regmi informed Prasad that the government was committed to making the November 19 Constituent Assembly poll a success and lauded the Indian Government´s support and assistance to that end, the Prime Minister´s Office said. [break]



Regmi expressed that the age-old cultural and geographical proximity as well as the people-to-people relations between Nepal and India would further strengthen in future.



Chairman Regmi expressed gratitude for India´s support in Nepal´s socio-economic spheres.



Likewise, Ambassador Prasad expressed confidence to successful completion of the upcoming CA election adding that stability and peace would prevail in Nepal after the CA election.



Prasad also pledged India´s continued support in Nepal´s prosperity.



Likewise, Prasad paid a farewell call on Minister for Foreign Affairs Madhav Prasad Ghimire today.

During the meeting, the two discussed the issues of mutual interests.



The Indian Ambassador is returning home on Sunday after completing his two and a half years tenure in Nepal.
