The Conference to be held in co-operation with the UN Office of the High Representative for Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States will be attended by the LDCs´ foreign ministers and their permanent representatives to the UN.
Sources said the government is making an arrangement to send a representative from National Planning Commission (NPC) if the appointment of Foreign Minister is not made on time to take part in the conference.
With Maldives graduating from LDC in 2010, there are now a total of 48 LDCs, which include 33 from Africa and 14 from Asia.
