A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Indian embassy, Khumbu Bijuli Company and Nepal Electricity Authority on Monday. According to a press statement issued by the Indian embassy on Monday, upgradation of the plant from 630 KW to 930 KW will provide continuous supply of electricity to over 5,000 people of the Khumbu Valley.
“The agreement stipulates the constitution of an oversight committee, comprising representatives of local development and administrative authorities to ensure the participation of the local community in the project for its implementation in a time-bound manner,” reads the press statement.
