India leads Sri Lanka by 121 runs in 1st test

GALLE, Sri Lanka, Aug 13: Sri Lanka's bowlers hit back after lunch to take four wickets to leave India on 304 for six at tea on day two of the first Test in Galle on Thursday.

After a wicketless first session, off-spinner Tharindu Kaushal made the breakthrough by dismissing captain Virat Kohli (103) after a 227 run stand with opener Shikhar Dhawan (134).


Kaushal also dismissed Ajinkya Rahane for no score.

Sri Lanka opted for the second new ball in the 87th over and fast bowler Nuwan Pradeep brought Sri Lanka back into the game with two quick wickets. Dhawan dragged one onto the stumps while Ravichandran Ashwin was bowled through the gate for seven.
