MAKWANPUR, August 6: CPN (ML) General Secretary CP Mainali has said that there has been direct intervention by India in the domestic affairs of Nepal.

“India is not only intervening in the internal affairs, it is exercising direct influence as well,” said Mainali, adding, “They (India) are inviting leaders of major political leaders from Nepal in order to influence Nepali politics.” He alleges that Indian Embassy in Kathmandu is directly interfering in the state affairs with Khil Raj Regmi-led government serving their interest. “The current technocratic government is formed as per the wish of India,” he added. On a different note, Mainali said that ignoring the concerns of the Baidya-led agitating parties would hamper the efforts toward building conducive atmosphere for November elections. “The government can´t hold the Constituent Assembly (CA) poll by ignoring the demands of the dissident parties,” said Mainali. However, he claimed that CA poll would not be held on the scheduled date of November 19.
