Indefinite lockout at Krishnanagar Customs

KAPILBASTU, April 13: Entrepreneurs operating quarries and crusher industries in the district have locked the Krishnanagar Customs Office for an indefinite period.



They have organized the lock-out demanding that the government allow them to export sand, pebbles and stones.[break]



Although the government has lifted the ban on the export of sand, gravel and stones following phase-wise movement launched by entrepreneurs, it has imposed a quantitative restriction on quarrying of sand and stones from river bed and banks.



The entrepreneurs carried out the lockout to press the government to lift the ban on quarrying of sand, stones and pebbles from river bank also.
