Implement past agreements, NC ready for extension: KC

NUWAKOT, May 21: Nepali Congress leader Arjun Narsingh KC said his party is ready to extend Constituent Assembly tenure for next six months if the Unified CPN (Maoist) ensured the environment for concluding the peace process showing its commitment to manage Maoist combatants and arms within the next three months.



Speaking at a press meeting organized by Nepal Press Union in Bidur of Nuwakot district on Saturday, NC leader KC said Congress is not for extending the CA tenure until the UCPN-Maoist becomes the civilians´ party and bring the combatants completely under Special Committee´s command, return the captured properties.[break]



The preconditions that NC has put forward for the CA extension were not new but they were the agreement that Maoist signed many times in the past, said KC, adding, his party only demands for the implementation of the past agreements.



In the different note, he said an experts´ team should be forged to determine the forms of the governance saying NC will not accept at any cost the division of the state according to ethnicity, KC said on the occasion.
