Khambeksa, who identified himself as the Force’s military commander, told mediapersons over telephone that they had started a revolt for the liberation of Limbuwan.
He said they also looted two rifles, two Mausers and a radio set from the police post. However, police said only a walkie-talkie was looted.
“They came when three of the six policemen of the post were on patrol. There were no weapons in the post because the policemen on patrol had taken them along,” a policeman said.
Meanwhile, chief of District Police Office Bikram Chand said there was no attack on the police post but a group of 15 to 20 persons had encircled the post and left some fliers behind. He said details of the incidents were yet to arrive.
