KATHMANDU, April 3: Finance Minister Bharat Mohan Adhikari said in the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) meet on Sunday that he did not pressurize the Finance Secretary Rameshowr Khanal to resign.

PAC had earlier summoned FM Adhikari to discuss the resignation of Finance Secretary and the controversial supplementary budget, but he defied the PAC call and attended the PAC meet only on Sunday. [break]

Speaking at the meeting, FM Adhikari said the accusation that he pressurized the Finance Secretary to let go the fake VAT bill racketeers are also baseless and false. He further added that he encourages the hard working people in the ministry and that he had publicly appealed Khanal to resume his work to the latest.

The resignation of Khanal need not be politicized, he said.
