HSC ties up with Islington College

KATHMANDU, Sept 14: Yeti Himalayan Sherpa Club (HSC) announced on Friday that Islington College is its new co-sponsor. The club and college organized a function in the capital to announce their tie-up for which HSC will receive Rs 800,000 for a year.



Sulav Budhathoki, the president and CEO of Islington College, handed over a check of Rs 800,000 to the president of HSC Karma Chiring Sherpa.[break]



Speaking at the function, Budhathoki said that the college decided to tie-up with HSC because of the college family´s fondness for the ´beautiful game´. He said that it was just the beginning and that the support will get continuity in the future too.



HSC´s main sponsor Yeti Airlines provides Rs 2 million annually.



HSC´s representative Nabin Pandey said that the co-sponsorship agreement between the club and the college was possible because of the mutual interest and similar goals.



“This co-operation was possible because the college aims to produce quality students and the club aims to produce quality players,” he said.



During the same function, HSC awarded Rs 10,000 to its player Rupesh KC as an encouragement for his debut in the national team. NSC Member Secretary Yuvaraj Lama handed over the cash prize to KC.
