Thames registered an empathetic seven wicket win over Kathford International College in the final. Winning the toss, Thames invited Kathford to bat first and restricted to 75 runs in 19.2 overs. In reply, Thames easily chased the target in 10.2 overs losing three wickets.[break]
Kathford batsmen failed in the batting department and lost wickets in regular intervals. Mahesh Joshi who scored 14 runs for Kathford was the only batsman for Thames to register double-digit score. Mahesh Khatri scored eight runs and Omjee Upadhyaya was unbeaten for seven runs.
Ashisman Singh of Thames claimed three wickets while Eraj Shrestha and Prakash Ojha pocketed two wickets apiece.
Chasing the paltry target, Prakash Ojha smashed 30 runs off 20 deliveries that included four fences and a six. Ojha was declared the man-of-the-match. Sagar Malla scored 16 runs for the champion and Bibhav Raj Joshi scored 13 runs. Sujan Timilsing (2) and skipper Eraj Shrestha (4) remained unbeaten.
Winning team´s skipper Eraj Shrestha was declared the man-of-the-series and best bowler award also went to Prakash Ojha of the same team. Prajit Karmacharya of Universal took home the best batsman award.
Shrestha of Thames scored 91 runs in four innings with the average of 45.50 and claimed eight wickets. Ojha had claimed nine wickets with an economy of 4.05 in his 12.5 overs spell. Similarly, Karmacharya of Universal had scored 91 runs in three innings with an average of 46.50.
Tournament coordinator Siddhartha Manu Marisini, Thames Managing Director Sarojini Sherchan, Chairperson Rajendraman Serchan and BBA coordinator of Kathford Kishor Silwal distributed prizes to the winners.
