Under her initiation, Yeoh collected about 100,000 Euros for the Nepal Automobile Sports Association's (NASA) emergency relief fund. Other agencies, including Federation of International Automobile (FIA) have also participated in this financial support.At a press conference held in The Everest Hotel, New Baneshwar last Friday, Yeoh promised greater initiations for the earthquake victim's benefit. She informed of having had a brief discussion with United Nation's Secretary General Ban Ki Moon regarding the situation in Nepal before her arrival in Nepal.
The actress recalled the quake as a terrifying experience. In an interview with IANS, she said, "We were terrified and traumatized and praying all the time to get evacuated as early as possible. Only after a few hours of the quake and aftershocks did we dare to enter the hotel. We all were praying: 'Please give us a few minutes to reach our room on the sixth floor to collect our passports and money'."
Yeoh started her Hollywood career with James Bond movie 'Tomorrow Never Dies' in 1997. Since then she has been a part of many popular movies, such as 'Memoirs of a Geisha', 'The Mummy', etc. In 2011, she played the role of Burmese democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi in the movie 'The Lady'. In 1973, at the age of 20, Yeoh was also crowned Miss Malaysia.
