HLPC, 33-party agree to hold all-party meet

KATHMANDU, Aug 22: The alliance of 33  dissenting parties led by CPN-Maoist and the High Level Political Committee (HLPC) has principally agreed to hold a roundtable discussion on Thursday.



A meeting between the two sides held at HLPC´s secretariat on Thursday  morning decided to hold an all-party meeting following  two days´ preparations in  the respective parties, Arjun Narsingh KC,   Nepali Congress (NC) leader said emerging from the meeting. [break]



Similarly, CPN-Maoist chairman Mohan Baidya said the talks between the HLPC and 33-party alliance was positive and both sides were agreed to hold a roundtable conference withing the next few days.



Talking to correspondents. CPN-UML leader Raghuji Panta informed that both the sides would seek consensus on the issue of roundtable conference after holding an intra-party discussions within the next two days.



Regarding the deferral of the election of the Constituent Assembly elections scheduled for November 19, Baidya informed that the proposed roundtable meeting would decide all the matters including date for holding CA elections.



According to KC, political parties under HLPC stressed on the need to hold CA election on stipulated date.
