According to the election result declared on Thursday, Karki secured 3,257 votes against 3,182 votes secured by his nearest rival Sher Bahadur KC of Broader Democratic and Professional Lawyers´ Panel. Independent candidate of the post of the president Surendra Thapa Magar secured only 249 votes. [break]
The Progressive Panel secured 8 positions including the president, four vice-presidents and three members out of 17 total positions while the Democratic Panel won 9 positions including a vice-president, general secretary, treasurer, and six members.
Janak Panday was elected Vice-president for the Eastern Region from the Democratic Panel. He secured 3,301 votes against 2,914 votes gained by his nearest rival Bal Kumar Gupta of the Progressive Alliance.
Tika Ram Bhattarai of the Progressive Panel secured the post of vice-president for the Central Region with 3,574 votes against 2,808 votes bagged by his nearest rival Mithilesh Kumar Singh of the Democratic Panel.

Anita Gurung of the Progressive Panel was elected as vice-president for the Western Region. She secured 3,311 votes against 2,976 votes gained by her nearest rival Bishwa Gimire.
Padam Prasad Baidik of the Progressive Panel was elected vice-president for the Midwestern region. He bagged 3,136 votes against 3,117 votes secured by Bir Bahadur Rokaya, a candidate of the Democratic Panel.
Likewise, Rajendra Bahadur Saud of the Progressive Panel was elected as Vice-president for the Farwestern Region. Saud secured 3,266 votes against 3,139 votes gained by Democratic candidate Nathuram Mahato.
Sunil Kumar Pokhrel of the Democratic Panel secured the post of general secretary. He received 3,505 votes against 2,722 votes secured by Din Mani Pokhrel of the Progressive Panel.

Mohan Ingnam of the Democratic Panel was elected treasurer. He secured 3,241 votes against 2,918 secured by his nearest rival Harindra Prasad Rai of the Progressive Panel.
Gajendra Shankar Timila, Ganesh Adhikari, Sagar Bishta, Prasanna Krishna Das, Binita Karki and Laxmi Devi Dahal of the Democratic Panel were elected as members while Kedar Prasad Koirala, Saraswati Shrestha and Raj Laxmi Bajracharya of the Progressive Panel secured the post of members.
Talking to mediapersons after the announcement of the result, Karki said that NBA will take initiatives to end the present political and constitutional crises in the country. "We will work together despite our different political ideologies," he maintained.
Lawyers across the country on Saturday had cast votes at 33 polling stations to elect their central leaders for the next three years. Altogether 8,215 lawyers are affiliated with the NBA.
