The 13th edition of the event, according to organizers, aims to promote handicraft products in both domestic and international markets. The five-day expo will feature 200 stalls showcasing handicraft, woodcraft, metal craft and silver craft products along with woolen products, garments, pashmina, jewelry products and paper products, among others.On the sidelines of the expo, Nepal Gem and Jewelry Council (NGJC) is organizing Nepal International Gem and Jewelry Expo, 2015. The jewelry expo is supported by Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC), Confederation of Nepalese Industry (CNI), and Trade and Export Promotion Center (TEPC), and will focus on to promote Nepali jewelry products, according to the organizers.
The jewelry expo will have 100 stalls showcasing jewelries by domestic as well as foreign companies. The organizers are requesting jewelers from India, China, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Australia, USA, Japan, and different SAARC and European countries to participate in the expo.
"The expo is being organized to explore the market of domestic jewelry products in Nepal as well as in international markets," the organizers said. "The exhibition will also see discussion on problems and prospects of Nepali jewelry industry."
Besides, NGJC officials said that the event will also feature information desks on traditional and modern domestic jewelries, their production processes, seminars, and business to business deals.
