Talking with the media during a regular weekly meeting, UCPN (Maoist) spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota also claimed that the government will bring out the full budget on its own if talks on the issue with opposition parties fail to reach consensus. "The president has not right to give any direction to the government. The ceremonial president can only approve what the government recommends," added Sapkota saying budget was vital to carry out activities of the country and government.
He was also critical of the opposition´s letter to the president urging him to block the budget if it was brought without consensus. He termed the opposition move as "non political" and compared it to the trend of registering "petition” during monarchy.
He also said the opposition parties - Nepali Congress and CPN-UML had submitted such petition letters to kings in the past and they had given continuity to their past activities.
He also accused NC and UML of thinking the government was their ´ancestral property´ and they were angry because they were outside the government.
