KATHMANDU, April 20: Health Minister Khagaraj Adhikari said that the government will take action against the doctors who shun their responsibilities.

Speaking at Reporters' Club today, the minister said that the government had issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the doctors who have shunned visiting their duty stations.

"We will replace the doctors shunning their responsibilities with the new ones," the minister added.

The minister who had reportedly criticized the media for escalating Jajarkot situation said that the government had deployed around 200 health workers to the affected areas.

Adhikari also claimed the epidemic will be controlled within a few days. "The adjoining districts of Jajarkot—Jumla, Rukum, Dailekh and Surkhet—have been put on high alert," the minister added.
