KATHMANDU, Aug 27: The government on Monday decided to submit four ordinances to President Dr Ram Baran Yadav for endorsement.
Speaking with reporters after the cabinet meeting Education Minister Dinanath Sharma said the government has decided to submit Education Service Act, Civil Servant Act, Health Service Act and an ordinance related to formation of Commission on Disappearances to the president for endorsement.[break]
“We have decided to submit ordinances related to public affairs with an expectation that the president will endorse it,” Sharma said with reporters.
Similarly, the government has requested the president to endorse Gaurav Shumsher Rana as the new army chief of the country. Rana is presently the acting chief of Nepal Army.
The government has also added 1041 vacancies in the Nepal Police.
In yet another decision, the government granted a month extension with effect from September 2 for probe committee on murder of Supreme Court Justice Rana Bahadur Bam.
A three-member selection committee with secretary of Ministry of Information and Communications as coordinator has been formed to pick new chairman of Nepal Telecom Authority.
