KATHMANDU, June 10: The government on Sunday decided to provide Rs 1.4 billion to the cash-strapped Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) to ease the supply of petroleum products.

The cabinet meeting took a decision to this effect, informed Minister for Information and Communications Raj Kishor Yadav after the meeting.[break]

Import of petroleum products had gone down sharply since past a few days after debt-ridden NOC failed to pay enough to the Indian supplier to secure normal volume of fuel.
