KATHMANDU, Sept 6: A fresh round of talks between the government and five armed Tarai groups ended inconclusively on Sunday after the agitating groups declined to engage in discussion without securing the release of their colleagues.

According to President of Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha Rajiv Jha, they have agreed to sit for next round of talks on November 4. Talks team members from the Tarai Samyukta Janakranti Party Nepal, Madhesi Virus Killers, Liberation Tiger of Tarai Elam, Madhesi Mukti Tigers and the JTMM had attended the talks held at the Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction.

Jha, who is also the coordinator of the JTMM talks´ team, said they have forwarded a list of a total 77 colleagues for release to the government. “We found that the government had done no homework for the talks,” said Jha.
