Govt forms committee on democratization of NA

KATHMANDU, March 27: The political committee of the cabinet has formed a three member committee headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar to make recommendation to the government on democratization of the Nepal Army (NA).



A meeting of the political committee held in Singh Durbar on Tuesday morning took the decision to this effect. [break]



Minister for Physical Planning and Works Hridayash Tripathi and Finance Minister Barshaman Pun were appointed member.



According to Pun, the committee will also make recommendation of review of National Security Policy.



Similarly, the political committee of the cabinet formed an eight member committee to make recommendation to the government on the implementation of government decision to declare 41 new municipalities.



The meeting also decided to bring all the five regional administration offices under the jurisdiction of the office of the prime minister. The offices are currently under the jurisdiction of home ministry.
