KATHMANDU, Jan 19: The local market witnessed record-breaking prices for gold and silver today (Monday).



Gold surged by Rs 4,200 per tola, reaching Rs 282,000, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Traders’ Association. On Sunday, gold was traded at Rs 277,800 per tola.

Silver also climbed, rising Rs 185 per tola to reach Rs 5,810, setting a new benchmark in the market, the association reported. On Sunday, silver was traded at Rs 5,625 per tola.
