Gold prices surge by over Rs 20,000 in a single day

Gold prices in the domestic market surged sharply on Sunday, recording a steep jump in a single trading day.

KATHMANDU, May 31: Gold prices in the domestic market surged sharply on Sunday, recording a steep jump in a single trading day.



According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA), gold is being traded at Rs 311,100 per tola today, marking an increase of Rs 20,500 per tola. On Friday, gold was traded at Rs 290,600 per tola.

Similarly, silver prices also rose on Sunday. Silver, which was traded at Rs 5,040 per tola on Friday, is now being bought and sold at Rs 5,345 per tola, an increase of Rs 305 per tola, FENEGOSIDA said.


In the international market, gold is being traded at USD 4,540 per ounce.
