KATHMANDU, Dec 24: Kulman Ghising, overseeing three ministries including Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation and patron of the Ujyalo Nepal Party, said he will decide on resigning from his ministerial post when it is time to register his candidacy for the House of Representatives (HoR) polls scheduled for March 5.
Speaking at a press conference marking 100 days in office, Ghising said he may step down to contest the polls. “I entered politics as a minister and have been carrying out my responsibilities in this role. When the time comes to file nominations, I will make the necessary decision,” he said.

He stressed that new parties must unite for the elections. “Elections are the government’s primary responsibility. All new forces must come together to contest,” Ghising said.
Highlighting collective responsibility, he added, “No single party or leader can claim to be the sole correct force. For effective post-election leadership, everyone must contribute from their respective areas and unite to move forward.”
During the press conference, he also presented 101 accomplishments achieved in his first 100 days while overseeing three ministries.
