KATHMANDU, Dec 22: Gen Z activists affiliated with the Miraj group, who were taken into police custody during Monday’s protest at Maitighar, Kathmandu, have been released.
The protesters had demonstrated, demanding the formation of an all-party government, and were brought to the District Police Office, Bhadrakali, for questioning. Following standard procedures, they were released shortly afterward.

Kathmandu Police Range Spokesperson SP Pawan Bhattarai said that all those detained were freed within a short period. The Kathmandu District Administration Office stated that police intervened after the group attempted to hold an unauthorized program without obtaining permission. Police action was taken to clear the road blocked by the unauthorized protest.
Meanwhile, a team led by protest Coordinator Miraj Dhungana visited the police premises at Bhadrakali to demand the release of their colleagues.
