He said that the government would purpose extending the CA term by three to four more months as per its need. He was optimistic that the peace process will be concluded by November 30. [break]
“The CA´s term could be extended and the Supreme Court verdict would not obstruct it,” Gachchhadar said while addressing a press conference in Biratnagar Sunday afternoon.
Gachchhadar, who is also the chairman of the Madhesi People´s Rights Forum-Democratic (MPRF-D), stated that the Supreme Court´s order has paved the way for extending the CA´s term until the task of constitution drafting is concluded.
He said that political parties have been holding talks to forge consensus for extending the CA´s term for one last time.
In a separate context, Gachchhadar said that the government will begin the process of recruiting Madhesi youths in the Nepal Army very soon as per as the spirit of the four-point agreement signed between the Maoists and Madhesi parties.
He informed that around 2,000 Madhesi youths would be recruited in the Nepal Army in the first phase. “The government cannot recruit 10,000 Madhesi youths as it lacks resources. So, they will be recruited in several phases,” Gachchhadar said in Harinagara of Sunsari.
