Three others arrested by the police in connection to the murder are Yubaraj Giri, Somnath Dhakal and Manju Dhakal.
Although police have concluded that Giri killed Poudel by throwing him off the top of the hotel owned by Dhakal, Rai´s statement is expected to shed further light on the case. Rai had reached the hotel where Giri and Poudel had a heated debate over the phone before Poudel was murdered.
Rai had been absconding since the the murder on April 4.
