Both have been charged under the Electronic Transactions Act, 2006, and a five-day remand has been granted by the court.

In a related case, two more individuals were arrested for allegedly assaulting a motorcyclist in Kodahawa, Kapilvastu Municipality-4, amid the same communal tensions. The victim was reportedly attacked with sticks, helmets, bangles, and fists, and his mobile phone was damaged. A video of the incident was also shared on social media.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Durgesh Yadav, also known as Raj, and Pankumar Gupta, both residents of Ward-4. They have been booked on charges of disturbing public peace, and a five-day extension for investigation has been granted by the District Administration Office, DSP Singh said.

Police said that only two out of five or six suspects involved in the assault have been arrested so far, and a search is ongoing for the remaining individuals.

Authorities have urged the public to refrain from activities on social media that could incite hatred, violence, or disrupt social harmony.
